New on the East End

Street Art Show @ Opera Gallery

Já tinha tentado ir ver esta exposição antes, mas o horário que estava no site da galeria estava errado e cheguei lá e dei com a porta fechada!

Mas hoje fiz nova tentativa e lá consegui! Como em quase todas as galerias cá, tive de tocar à campainha para entrar...nem por ser uma exposição de street art, feita nas ruas, para ser vista por todos de graça!!! Tirando esse pequeno pormenor, tive oportunidade de ver obras já tiradas da rua há muito, não fossem elas dos maiores expoentes da street art: Basquiat, Blek le Rat, Keith Harring, Banksy e muitos outros...

Não tendo tirado fotos minhas no interior da galeria, ficam aqui algumas imagens do catálogo...

I had tried to check out this exhibition before, but the scheduelle available in the gallery's site was wrong and when I got there it was closed!

But today I made a new attempt and I made it! As in almost all the galleries here, I had to ring the bell to go in...not even for being a street art exhibition, done in the streets, to be seen by everyone for free!!! Despite that, I had the opportunity to see works that were taken off the streets for some time, and from some of the most renowned names from street art: Basquiat, Blek le Rat, Keith Harring, Banksy among others...

Not having taken photos inside the gallery, I'll leave you some of the immages from the catalogue...

Victoria & Albert Museum

Finalmente visitei o Victoria & Albert Museum...Tal como a maioria dos museus londrinos, este museu está alojado num edifício magnífico!

Quanto à colecção, é enooorrrrmmmeeee!!! No tempo que lá passei, consegui ver o rés-do-chão, sem contar com as exposições temporárias.

Este andar contém objectos asiáticos, que bem aprecio, por isso gostei da minha visita...Acho que lá tenho de voltar antes de ir embora para dar uma espreitadela ao resto da colecção...

I finally visited Victoria & Albert Museum...Like most of the museums in London, this one is housed in a beautiful building!

As for the collection, it's huuugggeeee!!! In the time I spent there I could only visit the ground floor, temporary exhibitions excluded.

This floor contains asian objects, that I quite like, so I quite enjoyed my visit...I think I'll have to go back there before I leave to have a peak in the rest of the collection...
